Nope. Never did I say, “you weren’t allowed to post your opinion.”
I posted mine, just like you all did yours. And where did I say to praise stupidity?
As for the government? I have no idea what your point is there, but you won’t drag me into it.

My stupid shit all occurred during a time when you didn't want the one-hour photo developer to see evidence of said stupid shit, let alone pay for the privilege of developing hard evidence. So our stupid shit existed in stories only, which none of our friends believed anyway.

Nowadays, basic communication and evidence are one and the same. I can find a five year old conversation in my pocket if I search for the right keyword. As long as it's just stupid shit and not criminally stupid shit (with a victim), I can't blame the kids who weren't taught nor raised in an era where you intrinsically know not to bring certain things to light.

Well, sounds like you buggered it. De-buggering costs money.

    Welcome to the forum.

I'll weigh in and say I think the rear end went first (clanking) and the problem cascaded when 4H was selected and the terminal/dying rear diff then took transfer case with it.

That said, I'll just add that most of us have made probably made "questionable" decisions that have cost us. Sometimes big-time. There's the event, and then what you learned from the event that's important. I intentionally over-reved a poor, old, faithful engine one time showing off: Ford 289: Boom! Threw a rod.... I replaced it, but my Dad made me keep the old engine in the corner of the garage for years. ("we'll rebuild it")..... ya: NOT. It was his way of hopefully preventing me from ever doing it again.)

    It worked.

But eventually he lost 4H as well. If the driveshaft isn't spinning in 4WD... ugh.
