I stayed up late last night reading this: http://ttora.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2017331. Doesn't sound good for me really, because I think mine may be going the same way. 3rd gear is getting a little rough to get into and sometimes it will grind a little. This only happens when it is colder outside, or upon initial driving. Once the tranny warms up, no problems. If I cycle through the gears before I start to drive, that also seems to help. I recently replace the fluid with Redline MT-90, and put in a new clutch and T/O bearing. This made me sad to read. I love my straight drive and searched a long time before I finally found it. What to do now? I don't think there are any more preventative measures I can take. I also don't have the means to fix it myself like the OP did. Looks like I may be in the market for a new tranny in the future :(

Interesting. That's the first I have heard of it.
