It was actually right when I was about to buy the Cobra from you Mark that I found out I'd been had for several hundred dollars. Sneaky bastards changed my hourly and job position AFTER I worked the shifts in order to fuck me out of money they owed me. Brilliant. Just Brilliant.

Was this the job you quit? It's not uncommon for Ohio employers (who operate with impunity because they are protected by law as "at will" employers) to pay an employee who is quitting his last week or two at minimum wage, because, fuck you. Classy sons of bitches. If that's the case I can save you the lawyer. It's legal. Unless you have a written contract specifying wage and that the wage won't be reduced if you give notice.

 

Yes, this is the one I just left. I did not actually get a chance to quit, as they let me go before I could even go in and do that. The wages from the last week I worked were not sent to me. Instead, they stole them from under my nose. I worked for $4.05 an hour behind their bar. The money I made came from tips, the overwhelming majority of which came via credit card. The credit card tips would clear my employer's bank account 2 days after they were entered, so a couple of times a week we would sit down and I'd get the tips in cash. To give you an idea of how bad they burned me, the Friday I worked that week I had $180 in credit card tips. Instead of getting a check from them for credit card tips for that week, I got a check solely for an hourly that was minimum wage. This is not a case of having my base pay lowered to minimum, it is a matter of stealing my tips and raising my base pay up to minimum to look legal on the pay stub.
