If i ever get one it will be mounted in an open bed. How weatherproof are these?

On that GB thread there are reviews. The Indel scored better than the ARB and Whytner in most cases

The front would be which ever the control buttons are. So therefore, Indel is front up and yours is side up. Go back to your tri -state thread mister

Yes but the way they open differs between is you mount or long ways or sideways in the bed/car. For me, long ways is better so I have more room to slide things in and out in the bed

Two of the guys I went to RT last year with had a Engel and ARB. They worked fine from what I saw. We got hammered with rain and snow on the way there

But they were under the rack and RTT

Hope these pictures load. I pulled a map I have of NC. It has details on waterfalls, hiking, forest service roads, and unimproved roads.

This is the type of multi day trips I am interested in other than offroad park trips. Maybe combination? Need to see about getting a map like this for Tennessee and West Virginia.

If you're going that distance, check out the Trans WV Trail and the eastern portion of the Trans America Trail. WV starts in E Liverpool OH and TAT starts in Jellico TN. Both are predominantly bike trails but should be doable in a 4wd.

So for anyone that hasn't heard, Officer ambushed and killed in the area we were wheeling most recently. Sad to hear of another shooting, condolences to his family and fellow officers. Mark, I take it you work with his department quite frequently. If you have any info you care to share with us go for it. If there is a ceremony or vigil that would be appropriate for any of us to attend or a charity his family is asking for donations to I'm sure that there would be interest.

They already did..like right after he did it..his EX-girlfriend called the police before he killed the cop and said he left with a gun and was headed to shoot a officer..just too bad they didn't catch him before it was too late

Hopefully batons were used in full force when they found him.

Thanks for the post, Gavin. I actually don't know him or work with DPD. I'm still 45 miles east of there, though I'm obviously through there frequently.

Scroaty McBoogerballs was actually caught after a foot chase in the same park we met at last Sunday. I was listening to Knox Co radio last night after we got the BOLO and I heard them catch the guy. No injuries. Very professional. He was actually running and waving the dead officer's gun as he ran. Personally, I think that should have bought him a bullet, and it would have been legit, but they restrained themselves.

I commend them for not shooting him. But I wouldn't judge them if they did shoot. Is killing a cop a capital crime?
