The good thing about bikes is you can zip around shit and only need a line like 6" wide.

The bad thing about bikes is they only have one fucking drive wheel and the front wheel is susceptible to stopping you right fucking now on all manner of submerged shit.

Damn nice day to be out though. :bananadance:

    Now I'm at work. :annoyed:

LOL, actually, the guy who rode along with XOverland for a few seasons, Ryan, had a winch mounted on the luggage carrier of his BMW GS800.

But all you really need is 2 guys to drag is backwards.

But overall they're a good tire in your opinion? They're obviously not made for big time mud lol but they can hold their own in moderate mud and snow?

Have you guys determined where you'll be setting up camp at RRG? My boys want me to take them down, we may do some climbing if weather permits. Also, when is everyone heading down? I may have to work until about noon on Friday so will head down after that if we go.

I just looked Koomer up. Pretty close to RRG and Slade, and near Miguels. I'm thinking it's small enough that we can all find each other so basically we just plan to get there Friday night. First guy there, find a good / big enough spot and everyone else will trickle in as they trickle in. I assume they have firewood on site, even though it's off season - but if not there is a Shell gas station in Slade just off the Bert Coombs Parkway that sells camping stuff and I bet they have firewood for a camp fire. Don't forget a camp chair.

What are we thinking for food? I'll probably bring a cooler and some shit with me but I plan on hitting Miguels at least once, if not twice, for meals. Gotta get some Ale8 for ma drank once we cross the state line, too.

I gotta check the ferry schedule and make sure they are open; and probably check Miguel's schedule.

Are you camping Saturday night, as well? I plan on it, and then plan on taking off Sunday early to head back.

Is your FJ dude coming? And everyone coming has a CB this time, yes?

Works for me. If me and you are the first to roll in then it's on us to find a spot or two spots together.

Food, I'll probably pack some little things or just bring some mountain house packs. I fucking love those.

I'll be there Friday, Saturday and leave Sunday by noon.

FJ dude says he is in. Apparently he made a TW account but he hasn't said anything so I'll talk to him after work

In the event that Kooomer turns out to be a no go - there is a dead end road that runs off of 15 over the top of the NADA tunnel, and terminates on the top of that ridge that the tunnel goes through. Tunnel Ridge Rd, I think. There is a large area at the end of it that has availability for primitive camping. I've been back there on the bikes and it is nice and secluded. There are also spots right off of 77 and some of the dirt roads in the forest that are along the river, probably not big enough to get more than 2 vehicles in per area though.

Cliffview is decent. If anyone goes there post up in advance because I will ask you to buy me a RRG sticker from their gift shop, mine got trashed and I want another one. I'm not sure if their zip lines are open this time of year but they are pretty awesome and if you are taking kids down there, they are a fun 2 hour distraction.

This is the only off road pic I have from the area. This road turned pretty goopy and Meredith refused to go any further, then she dropped her bike coming out.

Does anyone want like fancy food for meals? Steak, ribs, shit like that. If not I'll bring some burgers, weiners, bacon, eggs and shit. I don't really know what everyone wants..

I don't. I'm just bringing some dried food (ramen, for real), water, canned soup. Stuff you can do on a little MSR fuel stove. Plus if time allows I'm doing Miguels for breakfast and dinner Saturday.
