Hmmmm.. any advice on antenna length? I would prefer to have a proper mounting setup, so hood or roof looks like my most likely move. I wouldn't want a magnetenna though.

 

I'll accept that. This time. Better step your game up for RRG.

 

Cheap magnet mount antennas stink, but Wilson makes some of the best cb antennas out there, and just happen to be magnet mounts. Lot of folks go with firestiks. Thats what I'm running. Depends what you are trying to achieve. If you want something for trail rides you can run a small antenna. If you are looking for max range, then you will have a different setup. Thats means tall antenna on roof, again not good for woods. What are you looking to achieve.

 

Any good recommendations for a good good mount? Mark had a nice one. I'd like to switch mine around too.

 

For where, hood?

 

Well... you've seen how I drive. I get all smashy and stuff...

I like adventuring and exploring, which often times means my radio antenna is bouncing and slapping around all over the place. I would like a CB setup that works and doesn't break. The better reception/transmission and the more range I can get, the better. That being said, it's pretty important that I don't snap the antenna off.

 

I think both CBI and either BAMF or Pelfrybuit make a hood hinge mount.

I think I am doing a 3' firestick hood mount.

 

Pelfreybilt doesn't have a hood mount. And I already have the CBI mounts so I need something different

 

Maybe relentless fab? But with ditch lights I don't know if you can fit another mount? Not sure.

 

The Hustler Trucker CB Antenna has caught my eye.. it's only $50 and comes in 3' and 4'

 

I have the Pelfreybilt hood mount bracket fire ring cb cable heavy duty spring and a couple firestiks of different lenghts.

 

I assume that was when Pelfreybilt first came around. They don't make those anymore?

 

Yeah, nevermind it is a relentless fab hood bracket mount. I forgot

 

Any one mount way better than the others? I figure just a basic stud on the hood would do..
