How are you looking this weekend? I would love to at least get shocks and coils done.. that is, if that sounds doable in a weekend on an old rust bucket.

Are you asking about extended bump stops? I put timbrens on the rear because I got them in the deal. Unless I drive through Utah, I guarantee I will never engage my rear bump. So waiting a while to get yours is low risk. I still have stocks up front.

What town do you live in?

EDIT: oh shit, you have a 1st gen.... my experience probably doesn't apply

43016 is my stomping ground, same story with @smithr1730 I'm Dublin he's Hilliard. As far as low risk goes.. I often carry 350lbs on my hitch and I have a bed cap. Also, ask some of the guys who went to Wills how low risk I am behind the wheel..:anonymous:

I'm back fukkas! Sorry I missed Wrenchfest '15.

Me and my wife did 13 days, 8000 miles, slept in the truck the whole way, hit like a gazillion national parks and other attractions, 17 states (I think...?), and we did some solo unsupported off road shit in South Dakota, Arizona, California, Moab Utah, and of course some bad ass Colorado passes - Imogene and Engineer being pretty good and just gnarly enough to keep my dick and balls lodged up in my guts and my wife shrieking non stop the whole way up. I also inadvertently wandered onto an abandoned road near Moab that (when I looked at the map later) had a double black diamond rating... scary shit but we made it through, only damage was a banged up hitch and scratched the shit out of both sides of the truck on tight desert brush, and one leaf came out of alignment.

    Good times.

As much as I love(d) my Tacomas I have to say, this thing is nimble as fuck and incredible off road. I have the base 4WD, no lockers, and it was freaking incredible. There were two jeeps on Imogene, possibly rentals so I can't comment on driver skill level, that could not make it up one steep section crawling in what I assume was 4lo; I passed them in 4hi like it was a joke.

It was snowing on top of Engineer so that was pretty sketchy.

I won't bore you with a ton of pics but here is one of my favorites.

Oh yeah, we decided to move (seriously) to northern Cali. Looking at jobs and houses in Eureka area, possibly as far north as Coos Bay, Oregon. 18 month plan started a few days ago; save up as much as possible, transfer our certifications out there, one of us gets a job, sell this house, and see yaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Key to a happy marriage is what this is.

Feel free to bore us with some more pics man:popcorn: and congrats on the decision to move!
Looks like we'll need to cram as many meets into the next 18 months as possible..

CA Redwoods - size comparison to the truck!

Just off Imogene Pass, CO. Mining ghost town of Tomboy, CO.

    Hurrah Pass, Moab, UT

Red Lodge, MT. In 2010 on my 18-day bike trip I took the southern route; this time we took the north route. Equally bad ass.

PS to Greg: you had mentioned doing Black Bear Pass. You better hurry... there was some articles in the Telluride paper about them closing the pass to vehicular traffic soon... or at least trying to get that process started.

Vote yes to Issue 3, and you don't need to move to Colorado to get your pot
