It showed up that Friday morning and my sales guy wasn’t in but I texted him. It was going to be there until Tuesday anyways since it’s going to Ziebart for undercoating. Originally I wasn’t supposed to have it until Christmas.

Really annoying that Ziebart has literally no information about their services on the website. From past research, they use a solid coating don't they?

Until you go to use penetrating oil or brake cleaner on something. Then it’s a goopy mess. It does work though. Just makes working on stuff kind of a pain.

Does it harden or stay in an oily state? If it’s oily I’m not doing it.

I've heard the stuff that hardens is really bad in the long run because as it cracks moisture gets in and it basically rots your frame from the inside out.

Fluid film is what everyone on here recommends. I haven't found anyone who will apply it though. I had no desire to get that stuff all over my garage doing it myself.

I just had mine treated last week with Corrosion Free. It seemed like the best product that companies offered around me. Goes on liquid and dries into almost a wax layer and it doesn't collect dirt as bad as fluid film does.

It was like $120 for materials and $130 for labor. They do really nice work, especially detailing, but it still seemed kinda pricey.

It will help in the long run. I had a old 1990 Mustang I daily drove up until 2008 and it had been done there. Probably what had kept it in such stellar condition.

I remember the stuff being hard, but like very hard rubber...I think the more current stuff is even harder. I just remember having to replace a fuel filter for example....that area, brackets, and even the filter was undercoated and the gasoline dissolves the stuff...was a black mess lol

They just told me it’s soft enough to put your nail through but won’t crack or anything over time. So I’m okay with that. As long as it doesn’t turn brown. They are doing just the frame and the underbody of the cab.

I have it on my truck. It's kind of self-healing where if a rock hits or scratches it then the material forms back together. That's the reason for not being a liquid or totally solid. Beware the warranty, too! The warranty says "lifetime", but when it comes down to it, you have to take it to them every 6 months for their "touch up" service in order to keep the warranty valid. It will get pricey if you maintain the warranty. I got the initial underbody coating and rust preventer plus one touch up service. That was three years ago and the underbody still looks very well covered. I doubt you'll need the rust preventer with the aluminum body though.

Thanks, I will barely drive it this winter and any winter at all but this is just an extra measure to keep it clean.

Did the coating start to turn brown or still like it was when applied?

It's still black. Any discoloration is from dirt particles getting stuck to it, but most of that washes out.
