So in another tire situation. Making final decisions now between the Mastercraft MXT and Falken AT. Don't know if I will like being on the AT..

Mastercrafts are noisy but that's a given. They have worked awesome out on the trail so far. wish I have more daily driving experience with them for ya man.

Yeah I would love to be on an AT just don't know how well they will do in eastern trails. If this was Moab then I'd go with the Falkens off the bat but just don't know.. Decisions..

If I may throw another option... My GY Wrangler Duratracs are awesome on and off road. Handle much better on the road than expected. Wet weather has typical degraded traction for an AT tire. Ran over a possum the other day and it looked like it went through a meat grinder...

I'd try the Falkens but they would be a under the table kinda deal through work and unreturnable. That's the only reason I'm stuck in this situation

What would be your reasoning for the ATs? Especially since your truck isn't your DD

Well then I guess it comes down to what your willing to pay and performance. Personally if I were in your position, I would go for the mastercrafts only cuz you don't DD

I also am looking at it like this....I know the falken's when they wear past the siping groves they become slicks but I guarantee I'll have diff. Tires before that ever happens...I'll probly get 20k out of them before they hit craigslist.

I got 35k miles out of my BFG Rugged Trails before I realized how crappy they were off road, er, I mean I sold them on CL, too.

I can absolutely make some time that week to be free! I'll figure out my schedule and let you know what day(s?) I could swing down.

I'd like to do one soon, but I likely could only do it on a Monday or Tuesday. Are either of these days an absolute no go for anyone? I know most of you probably work during the day but next Tuesday I may try to meet Mark in Dansville for some daytime gravel crusin and lunch.
