**OHIO WHEELIN' & MEET-UP THREAD**

Hell yeah brother, it’s a blast down there! You’d be hard pressed to have a better time for free, maybe some cooler obstacles at some of the off road parks but as far as public land wheelin this is the best that I’ve found.

We go nearly every weekend, you can tag along any time!

We do a lot of day rides too but sometimes we just get the urge to play under the lights. It’s a different experience in the dark!

 

I'd love to do a group ride. I haven't been to Vinton county yet, but I'm definitely going this year.

 

If anyone is interested, I have a 12.5k winch with synthetic line and wireless remote, fairlead, 2" receiver hitch mount (if you want to connect to your tow bar), and 12v extension cables - all new in the box. $400 for everything. Nothing wrong with any of it; 12.5k is just too big for the bumper I want to install.

Had so much fun last night I went back today to try to figure out some connecting routes.

Where at in Vinton county do you go? I moved down here last year and still learning the area

 

I hang out around the Vinton / Ross / Hocking area. Today we were near Tar hollow. I’m hesitant to post road names because of not wanting to get people into a “you’re on my land” situation. It’s better to lead people for their first time, property lines and what is/isn’t the public roadway is tricky to describe just by google mapping it.

We’re going down during the day next Saturday the 8th. My work buddy is bringing his Ranger for the first time. We’re not wanting a big group ride but if a couple other people want to tag along you’re welcome to. We’re gonna head out of my place about 10am which will put us there between 11:30-noon depending on exactly where we start.

 

I'd like to come one of these days, but I work nights and my days off are through the week. Trying to decide if I want to stay up Saturday and just drag ass for a day afterwards....

There is a lot of private land that's easy to accidently get onto if you're not careful. Dont blame you for not saying road names. Just curious if it's the same areas I've been to years ago.

I'll keep that in mind for this weekend. If I can get my truck back together by then I'll probably join

 

Posting once more now that the details are worked out:

8:30-9 meet up at my place 20min east of Xenia. Rt323 @ SR41

9am roll out. The trip takes us through Mt Sterling and Circleville, it’s about a 80min drive

10:20 arrive at Harpers (fuel & general store in South Bloomingville). It’s on the corner of SR56 @ 664 to top off of fuel get snacks and air down, this is just a mile from the turn off onto the trails.

10:45-5pm riding

If you don’t want to make the trip down in the convoy and you don’t want to meet at Harpers at 10:30 feel free to PM me what time you’ll arrive to the area and I’ll send you a street address that’ll get you to a meet up spot.

What to expect
-Extreme grades, crawling over obstacles while on grades.
-Not much mud, the soil down there is mostly rocky and sand, there’s some mud holes but I usually try to avoid the muck which isn’t hard to do.
-Water crossings, the water is usually higher this time of year. I have my intake in the cowl and it’s fine, I might be hesitant with a stock intake inlet in the fender well. We will be driving in the flowing creeks at several different times, not just crossing but actually driving down the creek beds.
-You’ll need armor (or just be ok with trail kisses to your body, I’m in the latter group).

Any questions feel free to ask away. One of my good buddies from work is coming and he drives a Ranger so make sure you keep the shit on ford jokes to a minimum lol. Some guys from a local FB Toyota group are coming too.
