my dealer is pushing the additive Krex Graphite, is this just a hawaii thing? by adding it they give roadside assistance and a bunch of other stuff. they put it in the engine when they sell it and advise to use it at each oil change.

Anyone try Lubegard 30901 Bio/Tech Engine Oil Protectant or Lubegard 30916 Heavy Duty Engine Protectant?

Snake oil. I would never let a dealer put something in my engine not recommended specifically by Toyota.

Only an idiot would let a dealer (A Toyota dealer, no less) dump something other than oil into their engine, much less pay money for it.

    ^this^

    ^and this^

Oils come with detergent packages already in them, particularly "better" oils like Mobil1, Castrol, Penzoil, etc. no need for an extra additive

I misread the OP however Stabil and Seafoam can be used in the oil. Used for fogging boat motors for storage.

That said, I don't use oil additives. Oil has plenty of additives and that's is what s really changed when oil is changed. The molecular structure of the base stays pretty much the same. Oil used for oil changes does not need more additives

No why would I - just go get some Mobil1 or Motorcraft synthetic blend oil and don't put extra unnecessary additives in your new engine.
