Nothing new or special here, but I did finally get around to doing the fog lights anytime mod, and I also installed an ADD W1 oil catch can last weekend. Photo here is after 100 miles of driving after install, with 2500 on the odometer. Also, a night shot of the fog lights mod. I've found myself several times this late summer/early fall needing to turn off my headlamps and use fog lights only, to no avail. Not anymore.

Great video for TW members to see the benefits of a catch can. I have mine for 6 months now and I'm glad I bought it. Worth ever penny

Here is my school of thought on the catch can. I dont run them.... the oil mist keeps the exposed valve stems partially lubed as well as the upper cylinder lubed as well.

Every jet ski i have worked on that has had a catch can installed suffered from intake corrosion and even to the point of broken valves due to rust... and the dirbikes i have worked on that had catch can's / changed the breathers on the bikes to not run to the air box's have needed top end rebuilds sooner than those that left the breather system stock.

Thats a first  Jet ski's are vulnerable to taking on water to begin with..Thats usually the case when you get into corrosion in the engines.

I love my ADD W1 catch can. Installed it the first week I had it to help catch some of the blow by from break in. Crazy how much oil can be recirculated back through the intake. Dont see how gunked up intake valves and throttle bodies are good

exactly they suffer from intake corrosion due to the fact there was no lubrication from the oil vapors.

If toyota thought it was a good idea for the longevity of the motor to do a catch can they would of... and would of done it properly with an oil air separator that allows the oil vapor to liquefy and drain back into the crank case.

I meant as in being sunk. Usually people dont get the water out as quickly as they should. Thats when i've seen corrosion on the valves, surface rust in cylinders, etc begin to form.

Excess oil can cause deposits to form on the valve stems, around the valve seat and the head. But, I can see what you mean by some oil vapors being good to help reduce corrosion .

Not true exactly. The valves will still get lubed but to a limited amount thanks to the valve seals that prevent a larger amount to get through when it goes back into the cylinder head.

The reason why Toyota didn't add a catch can is because it would be another part the owner will not check. Heck a lot of people hardly ever check their tire pressure let along the oil level. That's why (Govt)big brother had add the stupid TPMS in so the knucklehead behind the wheel can see that "hey my tire pressure is low"
