    I checked mine at 2 months when I did an oil change. Was under 1/4" of dark oil. I don't put a lotta miles on my truck, maybe 7k a year. Drain at every oil change, no worries.

    Finally checked the dipstick. It had some oil on it, but when I wiped it down and reinserted, it same out dry. It's like a 1000 degrees in my garage. I'm not taking it apart right now.

    the oil sprays down from the top of the can, so there's a good chance the oil that was on your dipstick is just the mist and runoff collecting on it

    So got my catch can... I'm standing in front of my truck looking at where I'm going to put this, when it occurs to me, while we are catching the oily gas substance, we are still pumping hot air back into our intakes, the opposite of what we want going into our engines. Whats to stop anyone from just capping off the intake side, adding tubing and dumping this out under our trucks somewhere?

    Vacuum problems from where? The little amount of air that my SC is getting from this little tube off my manifold could easily be picked up from the air intake. As long as I cap off the nipple on the under side of the SC, what problems could this cause?

    The only reason I can see for this to exist is for emissions. Redirecting unburnt gas and or oil back into the engine to be re-burnt in hopes of lessening the amount of these gas and oils reaching the atmosphere. If our engines needed more air, i.e. the intake couldn't keep up, why vent hot gases back in? I can see having problems if I caped both ends of this loop. But just capping the SC end, and venting the manifold end everything should be fine.
