The key to happiness, at the dealer, and other places, is low expectations.

    Lower.

    Nope, keep going.

    There you go.

I stripped the drain plug on my previous truck's transmission pan. Not blindly trusting FSM torque specs ever again. :bananadead:
Toyota ExpressLube operations are slightly better organized than the Jiffy/Super/Quick/Speedy Lube places.

The problem around here is, disposing your waste oil. By the time I do the tractor, the side by side, the outboards, mower, snow blower and all the toys, I have a gazillion quarts if oil to despose of. Adding the two vehicles and I just figure the dealership can handle those. My dealership, is reasonable.

Stripping drain plugs ? Not a concern once you're old and feeble. I can’t generate enough torque to strip anything.

    Fast forward 10 years...
The first 18 months of marriage were fantastic! Half price draft on Thursday nights and day drinking with friends on Saturdays while throwing horseshoes and playing cards. Yes, those were the days Rachael remembers quite fondly. But once she became preggers, she realized her virginity taker might have a problem.
Seems as though a baby on the way didn't sway his decision to keep livin the good life. He even threw in an occassional Friday night at the local Applebees and football game keggers at his cousin's trailer on Sundays.
Luckily for Rachael, Ted down the street had recently split sheets with his wife, Becky. Seems Becky had a thing for the local Auto Zone assistant manager and wanted to give it a go.
Rachael had been confiding in Ted for almost a year now. It won't be long before they can no longer control their passion for one another.
Josh, on the other hand, already knows about Rachael and Ted. They were spotted together at the local sports complex by Vicki who is the second shift drive thru window worker at the largest CutMart in the area.
Vicki is hoping to dissolve the relationship between Josh and Rachael. She likes the bad boys, much to her dad's disgust.

Lol well that escalated quickly ... I know how to change my own own oil and do basic service but the service was included when I bought the truck sooo why spend more money to do it myself? Oil ain't cheap in Cali lol ... Also Dublin Toyota was a ghost town yesterday so definitely not too busy ... All they did was change oil, rotate tires and change air filter .... per the receipt.... Walnut Creek is usually better than Dublin i just didn't want to deal with downtown traffic and thought an appointment would make a difference in completion time lol I was wrong :notsure::turtleride:

Did you drop the truck off? Or tell them that you were waiting?

When I ran a service department, 'drops' for LOF's or rotations took lowest priority; the techs worked on them between 'waiting' jobs. So frequently they'd get pushed to the later part of the day, since it's more important from a customer service standpoint to help the customer who's sitting in the waiting room first, rather than keeping them sitting there longer so you could work on a car whose owner wouldn't even be back for another 4 hours. We always made a point, when a customer dropped off a car for the day, of asking when they'd be back to pick it up, so that we could make sure that we'd have the car ready before then.

Now, obviously if they're overbooked, that's a different kettle of fish.

I went to the dealer for a free tire rotation and it took 3 hours.

This is why I will let them change the oil once more and that will end their seeing my truck for anything maintenance related. Warranty work only.

Most likely the Dealership got behind, and maybe 6 guys with appointments ahead of you, easier and better just to do your own oil change in less than 30 min.

Same experience, I even got 2 jacked up lug nuts for my trouble.
The time it takes me to drop my truck off and pick up it isn't worth it. I just do my oil change while I'm working from home.

Toyota charges 3x more than a do it yourself with the best oil and filter, not $3 bucks more.

I had my 1st service yesterday. They had my truck an hour. Ate a half dozen freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and 2 cold Coca Cola's while I waited. Oh and got another dealership hat.

After my Toyota care is over I'll just drive to the dealership without making a appointment and drive in for a oil change.
