So let me get this straight, you mean to tell me that the Toyota printed Maintenance Guide that came with my vehicle that tells me to change my oil every 5,000 (five thousand) miles is blowing smoke up my ass?

Those guides are produced and published for one reason only.... anyone else want to chime in here.... This is a wide known fact.....

So, if I may entertain your wisdom once more, logic would dictate that if Toyota tells me to drive my car 2,000 (two thousand) miles more than what I should [scientifically] drive, that they accept the full and ungodly weight of what must be a colossal liability in a major manufacturers business world.

Interesting that you bring that up. Yes they do take in to account that liability. But they specifically word and extend the warranty to exclude themselves from liability.
(current tab on attorney fees are 2x purchase price of my Tacoma brand new)

    Excellent question!

This is fun, let's continue this logic.

SO, according to you Toyota is intentionally misleading its consumers with information that would lead to consumers damaging their own product if said manufacturers guidelines are followed to the "T".

Yes. That fact is an afterthought. I filed the lawsuit originally concerning the head gaskets. It's been on going for right under 3 years.

EVEYTHING is being brought to light. It's to the point where I am in debt so bad, I can't afford to not see it through. Either I win and great, I don't loose my house and still owe money, but you guys who own a 2005-2006 are set for life, OR I loose and loose everything!

    Continuing this toilet-swirl of logic...

So, the unit of measure we now have here for Toyota's "success rate" is their "cell-phone style, time-bomb" design of the Tacoma where in which they directly instruct the consumer to damage their own manufactured product. *EDIT* the measure being bricked Tacomas.

Now that we've established their cryptic scheme, what is their success rate?

Well, it's obvious you clearly know more with your own starter shop having built "a few of your own" trucks than does Toyota.

Don't mind the sheer number of Tacoma owners who report well above the life of a vehicle reasonably thought possible... some following even on more laxed maintenance schedules than Toyota themselves recommend. Peruse the 1st Gen forums sometime. The thing is, these are only the few vocal owners of Tacos; a mere fraction of "no-names" and other day-by-dayers who aren't interested in TW or interacting with online forums - just going about their merry way doing with what Toyotas do best: not dying.

But seriously, glad to hear you've discovered the Fountain of Youth for vehicles.

Man, I’ll give it to you - when you’re wrong you just double down and keep going.

Toyota is willfully recommending OCI that damage the engine? You literally just said that?

Recommended oil viscosity for the single vvt-I 1gr-fe in the Tacoma has always been 5k intervals with a 5w-30 conventional. Nothing has changed.

For everyone else reading, including OP - despite the gentleman in the straight jacket spouting off about brand superiority, laughably short oil change intervals, and lawsuits:

    1. Pick the oil that meets the required specs for your truck in which ever brand/bottle/logo makes you feel better, because that is the only real world performance difference between them. End of story. Everything else is bluster and marketing.

    2. Run that oil for Toyota’s recommened 5k OCI or even longer (much longer - search user “qynla” if you want to see big miles on long oil changes) if you are using a synthetic.

    3. Drive your truck for as long as you want to because it’s a 1gr-fe Toyota Tacoma and it’s an freakin’ rock. They made 1.5 million of them and the vast majority are still running with people running every oil under the sun from 3k to 20k intervals.

Have had oil changes a jiffy lube, but not on my Tacoma. I had ez lube not change a filter before. I would go there only as a last resort and only if I could not do it. Invested in a good oil drain pan and I do it myself now.

Quick oil change businesses use bulk oil.(How do you think they make a profit) Your receipt will say one brand and weight and your oil pan will be full of what ever they can get low bid on contract. Low bid bulk oil is often times recycled oil that has been filtered/cleaned and refortified. As a retired Fleet Manager I had salesmen constantly trying to sell me recycled bulk oil and recycled bulk antifreeze.
IF YOU LIKE YOUR TRUCK STAY AWAY FROM THE QUICK OIL CHANGE SHOPS. If you are able it is best to do your own oil changes yourself.
