I completely agree that the extra cost of going from 10K to 5K is pretty insignificant. Your post didn’t sail over my head. (But I do appreciate your concern that I might be an idiot).

I think what you fail to realize is that by being kind of a pompous dick, for example in the post I responded to (and the one I’m responding to now), you turn off even those who actually agree with you. And most definitely those who don’t. Amazing the difference the word “overpaid” makes in the post, like it wasn’t enough to just make the logical point. You had to find a way to be nasty about it.

Finding ways to insult someone who doesn’t agree with you won’t win you any arguments but maybe it makes you feel better about yourself? I take no pleasure in pointing out the pompousness, I do it because less pompous dickishness improves forum quality for everyone.

I did the same but with mobil1 for my 4.7 tundra. Never used any oil either till i sold the truck with over 290k miles over 2 years ago. Truck is still running strong today with its new owner. I've learned long ago after going to europe that were brainwash, or conditioned here in the u.s. into changing our oil way too often. I wouldn't be surprised if the major oil corporations are behind a lot of this thinking, so they can increase their profits.
