Believe I am the only 3rd Gen owner who actually likes the seating position.

Also use to be a heavy equipment operator, so used to sitting on nothing more than a gloried bleacher seat pad all day long. I just don’t know any better. Ha!

Gotcha, no doesn’t bother me. Have done 20 hour bomb runs in it before. No 6 pack, but a lot of caffeine.

Oil also act as a coolant, as any air cooled gearhead out there.

    I am another one.
Both my 1991 Truck and 2023 Tacoma are very comfortable seating for me.

Never had any complaints about any of my Toyotas from ‘85 and up. I grew up on bench seats, the car like seating position was refreshing after bouncing around in our 70-80s work trucks all day. Those feel like you’re sitting on a stool.

People say their legs are straight out in front of them in the Tacoma, dunno mine have plenty of bend at the knee.

Sorry to ask, but what the hell does seating position, etc. have to do with oil change intervals? Or are we just trying to change the subject? :deadhorse:

It all started with oil change intervals…which correlates how miles you drive per year, more miles you lay down the more often you have to change the oil, those of us who have to change the oil often…the question arises “doesn’t yer ass get sore???” Well no, and the reasoning being is…

So there you go. More dead horse beating. :)

Much like political and religious discussions, OCI discussions evoke emotion. People spewing personal views of "facts", citing of "experts", gut hunches, statements like "well, my dad taught me", oil lab test results, screen captures from the owner's manual, "don't you think the engineers who built the stupid thing know best?" comments (did I miss a variation on themes?), etc.... and it all comes down to this.....

    You do you.

As for me, my OCI is 2500-3000 miles because I have a short commute to work....and once I'm a work I'm doing a LOT of very short trips around the base. And I plan to keep this sucker forever, not just though the warranty period.

Toyota says 10K is ok in some cases. Yeah, no. Not for me.

I'm still going to stick with doing my oil change about every 5 or 6 thousand miles. For me that comes out to roughly twice a year. I do drive about 8 miles to work each way and that does get the engine up to temperature but I tend to drive short trips too, plus tow a small camper a few times a year and we haul gardening and home improvement stuff often.
My last vehicle I treated this way for over a decade. Never had any oil related issues with it and at 165,000 miles when I sold that jeep it didn't use oil between changes at all.

I remember when the steering wheels didn’t tilt or telescope.

Spent many an hour behind a wheel just like this. Probably why I think a Tacoma is super comfortable.

    Lol!

Remember when we didn’t worry about ergonomics, or drive ability, or whatever. Just got in and drove. Didn’t know any better apparently.

Now guys cry if a vehicle doesn’t have a heated, tilt and telescopic steering wheel and power heated/ventilated seats.
