The filter was not making the noise, it was doing/not doing something that cause my motor to make the noise.

I read a couple of other threads on here and on other forums that mentioned that this motor for some reason does not like the cheap Fram filters. They said that it can actually cause a knocking type noise to be able to be heard but no one offered up any definite explanation of why. They said when the Fram filter was taken off, the noise went away nearly immediately in most cases.

This was not a cheap orange Fram filter, it was their ultra synthetic. I guess something about the way Fram makes their filters may cause a restriction of oil flow or pressure change causing the lifters or something to become more audible. The only thing I did to my truck was swap the oil filter when it was cold, and put back in the same amount of oil that I lost changing the filter. The dealership was closed on Sunday when I did this so after looking at several recommendations on here, I got one of the mobil filters to put on as it was the second most recommended behind the OEM.

I am running the OEM filter and was getting the noise. I just filled up with costco premium gas and after about 50 miles of driving the noise has stopped (just taco tick). I hope it stays away.
