I'm sure there's threads about this, but this is specific to my vehicle.

My Tacoma has approx. 188,000 miles on it (year 20000) and currently I drive about 4,000 miles a year. I have been doing basic oil changes every 6 months just to keep a clean filter/etc.

Do you guys think every 6 months is a good protocol or should I just do it once a year for the miles I drive and the miles it has on it?

6 months or 5000 miles seems to be the general consensus and what Toyota recommends.

I do mine about every 3 months on my low mileage driving vehicle.

I might drive 75 miles a week lots of starting and stopping

My truck gets done between 3 and 4 thousand which is about once a month.
