oil change today and oil was a deep red ???

maybe alittle blood in there from the jiffy lube kids face he will be ok though i brought him to the hospital after

i havent drove the truck in just about 2 months so maybe thats it ..

i warmed it up i drove 20 minutes to get oil and filter

 

is this just a joke or do you think there is a internal leak and im mixing tranny fluid and engine oil ..

I don't think the tranny fluid could leak into the motor oil. Plus the tranny probably would have seized if that much of it got into the oil.

Maybe Jiffy Lube mixes a red dye with the oil now so it's easier to see on the ground when they forget to tighten or strip the drain bolts?

 

not saying this is your problem but engine oil can look reddish under incandescent light and when photographed. take the rag out in the sun and look at it.

i thought you only needed to warm oil before draining on engines without filters? am i wrong or has anyone else heard this?

thats what i was thinking. like RP is purple for a little while and then the dye wears out and it looks the same as normal oil.

I always warm it so it can flow out easier. I think it also may be because much of the junk in the oil will settle and may not be drained if you drain it cold.
