oil change today and oil was a deep red ???

    RP is purple for about 2 minutes at most.

    Every time I change my oil (I use RP in both cars) I run them for about 2 or 3 minutes and check the dipstick, and the oil on the dipstick is clear.

    If you drive you vehicle anywhere, that purple dye immediately burns off.

    You stated it's been 4 months since the Jiffy Lube oil change and you hadn't driven the truck in the last 2 months. Since the oil was only used for 2 months maybe it just still looks new with a reddish/golden tint?

    i guess its possible but i have never seen motor oil like that after a couple months. Thats why i figured id share it with everyone here and get others opinions on it

    Just because it's a Taco does not mean they should have refilled it with picante sauce... Blackstone is real good, I use them to analyze every change. Good Luck!

    looks normal. i have drained oil that sat in my old car before. same color. no need to worry.

    The only reason I can think of in which that oil will be a red color is a filled it with transmission fluid. I have never seen a reddish colored motor oil before. Definitely send it out to have samples taken.
