Oil change with stuck filter

    I got a 2011 Impreza too. The heat shield cools faster than the oil, so it's no big deal. Since getting the Taco I've standardized to 0W30 oil, which flows well on a cold engine. Biggest pain is still having to jack the car up.

    Newer Subarus moved the filter to the top like the 1GR, but Subaru neglected to put a drain in the filter bowl :devil:

    Thats nonsense its a simple job. Think about it , well unless the filter is stuck on.

    Never had a problem with mine. Switched out to aluminum cap. Little cheater bar and you are good. No different than breaking any tight connection loose.

    I bought the TRD Skid plate and also the Fumoto Valve (everyone raves about) and oil filter wrench.
