    The answer is you do not have to replace the washer unless it is damaged. I have never replaced mine.

    If you got metal shavings in the oil pan you already have big issues. Oh and the stock oil drain plug is not magnetic.

    You should run the engine to warm the oil and circulate the oil. This will suspend all the tiny particles in the oil and they will drain out with the oil.
