Many opinions, no real wrong answers as long as you keep up the servicing.

I would personally run a high mileage oil. But any quality 5w30 will do you good. Synthetic isn't required at all, many half million mile 3.4's out there with regular bulk oil.

Walmart special (usually Super Tech or Pennzoil) with a Super Tech filter has given me nearly 250,000 miles. I just buy the cheapest stuff they have. If the price is the same, I pick my favorite color bottle.

Edit: I don't use synthetic at all.

I just recently took a pledge to stay away from "what oil" threads, but just like the "I'll never drink again!" pledge here I go:

In San Jose, at 136k miles with a 14-year-old engine, I¹ would use 10W30 high mileage oil like SuperTech High Mileage 10W30 from Walmart (produced by Citgo).

My wife's '03 Highlander (3.0 L V6) has been running on that for 7 years and over 90k miles. Still runs like new and does not burn or leak a drop--HM blends include additive packages that can and do soften and protect hardened seals making them of significant benefit to not only high mileage, but also older engines...

    ------------------------------
¹- I, me, IMHO; FWIW. I do not care to argue or engage in any back-and-forth banter regarding same.

Take the skid plates off and give it the reach around when removing the filter.

I have always run 10w30 penzoil. Been using the high mileage flavor since around 100K. I'm at almost 240K now.
