For the most part I agree…it’s the real twats that I usually ignore. You know, the ones that aren’t even creative with their insults.

my truck has 150k miles. I check the oil every 2 weeks not because it burns oil (it doesn’t) but because it allows me to inspect things regularly.

To be honest, I do too, but not everyone is able to shake it off. I leave smart @$$ed replies on occasion but try to avoid personal attacks.

Same. Sometimes I make a joke or something but never intend to offend anyone. I’ve seen some comments that take it a bit to far that’s for sure. I try to limit myself to a little good natured banter and that’s about it.

Probably true. 175k on my 2010, I change the oil every 5k. I check it once a month or so and it’s never been low even one time.

Yep. Mine has 120k never even pull the dipstick between oil changes. If the stupid light comes telling you have low oil, something major has gone wrong or if you loosing enough oil between changes for it come on, there’s no way there’s not a sign. It’s on the ground, in coolant, smoking like a bar b que you’ll know.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Though it still won't stop the recreational maintenance folks from checking it every 100 miles.

Up here in the rust belt the dip stick on a Tacoma is about the only part that does not corrode.

If I couldn’t read the oil dipstick, I would probably no longer be driving. My family would see to it…
