Yesterday I got my oil changed at my mechanic who has always been reliable. I noticed a small spot in my driveway this morning about the size of a nickle where oil had dripped. I snapped this photo. It looks as if oil is splattered. Does it look like a leak or old spilled oil from when the change occurred? The truck has never had a leak. Shop does not open until Monday so wanted to get some opinions.

    Pretty simple to tell
Check the oil filter, if dry good , if not wipe it good go for a few drives and see if it remains dry.
Do the same with the oil drain plug
Also clean up the oil on the cross member

Everything said above. My guess would be some old residue oil that got slopped and now dripping down.

Probably not this, but once I installed drain plug without the washer. Started dripping within hours.

Put in the actual work, youre going to have to get your hands dirty....
The internet is useless in this situation.......
rags, good flashlight, eyeglasses, patients, knowledge....
    As stated, use your senses...
see if oil filter is dripping, drips while running...
or is dry, youre going to have to touch it.....

if not clean it all up, & retest, repeat....

or do nothing, wait till Monday & drive it to them...
