Judy is full of crap, I’ve dealt with this dealer since the early 80’s. Many service managers come and go here. their service advisors assign who does what, they will not give a vet mechanic a simple oil changes that goes to the Lube techs. Unless you’re going in for other work ie plugs ect that’s the only way they are assigned an oil change.

EDIT I now see it was Morristown. Had a co worker who had an issue there a few months ago too.

That's not really the issue here. I guarantee that the o ring wasn't missing but rather it came unseated on one side while being screwed in. A good design doesn't require training.

The reason shampoo bottles have directions is to protect them from frivolous lawsuits of someone claiming they didn't know how to use it

Worked at a dealer. Not in service, but have seen this happen a few times. First thing, 99% of service managers are overworked and have 10,000 issues pulling them in every direction. Not an excuse, more of pointing out the issue with them also being the point person to handle issues like this; while they babysit 30 or so adults. Secondly, Toyota Corporate has been taken over with people who have zero experience at life; much less dealing with customer issues. They are of almost zero help to the dealers and they have no idea how to solve problems. So, don’t expect corporate Toyota to be much help either. Finally, the dealer is not going to offer you any sort of extended warranty unless you push this up higher than the service manager or become such a huge pain in their ass via Google or Facebook reviews blasting them. Otherwise, I would make sure you get a Service RO with the manager’s notes actually written on one of the lines. That way you have some kind of backup if you need it. Toyota is still a great company, but a lot of the people that made it what it is today are leaving/retiring and being replaced with kids who have zero interest in making anything better.

Toyota Corporate helped me and gave me an eight year extended and transferable warranty for my trouble.
