Anyone know how often do you change the oil filter? What every miles? And most recommended oil changes is every 5k miles?

I change mine often about every 2500 to 3500 miles and do it myself ... drive about 1000 miles a month in mostly suburban driving.

I've never changed mine but if I decided to do so I would just look in the owners manual and see what they say

I don't know why companies even bother to print them. So few people read them.

Two of your links are talking about the 4 cylinder and the other one is a poll about when to do the first oil change. So none of them are helpful in this situation.

I split the difference between severe cycle or what Toyota call "special operating conditions" and normal cycle and change mine every 7500 miles.

Do they even put a owners manual in these things? Reason I ask is because this forum has become a melding pot for ignorant questions that are found in the manual if you will just open the glove box, pull it out and read it.
:facepalm:Some people's kids, want everything done for them.

Read the Friendly Manual. As in the Warranty and Maintenance Guide that comes with every new Tacoma.

...^^^... Yes ... I change the oil filter with each oil change ... I believe in frequent oil & filter changes and always use a good synthetic too.

Changed the plastic oil filter cover to a Toyota OEM cast aluminum filter cover and got their special wrench and it is super easy and much faster too.

Got all that stuff on Amazon and filters too. Love that Amazon Prime ...

But the oil on sale at Costco.

Oil filters should ALWAYS be changed with the oil....

    Seriously read your manual.

Synthetic oil & filter @ 10K ..... and a filter change at 5K ... so use 2 filters per oil change cycle.
