That kind works really well, but the problem with it is that if you have limited room to swing the ratchet and have to get another bite on it, you have to hold the jaws while you back up the ratchet. The one in post#4 above has springs that hold it against the filter. Overall though, both of those are my most favorate oil filter tools.

I agree. I got this because of the numerous different types of wrenches and it seemed the simplest and most universal. I use an extension on it so I the ratchet is free to spin all the way around which eliminates me having to hold the jaws.

Wait till one of your buddies comes over with a POS front wheel drive cracker box car with the oil filter way up between the motor and the firewall, and pointing towards the firewall. LOL

The Altima was behind the passenger side wheel well behind the fender liner. I had to look up where it was. I had never seen a filter located there before.

I havent done a lot of nissans at my dealer but 90% have been there, Im sure its bitch when you dont have a lift. The only nice thing is they are pretty consistent on putting them there so you dont have to look to much.

I have a great story from yesterday as why you shouldnt use a oil filter wrench for installation. I work at a dealer and none of the quick lube guys could get the oil filter off, they have multiple different types of wrenches to remove filters and this bitch was not moving. Ended up having to use my snap on filter wrench with a 12 inch extension so I could use a 18 inch ratchet to move that bitch, the claws on it were cutting through the metal filter trying to get it to move. Ive had some on pretty tight but never to the extent that this thing ended up getting mangled, I may take a pic tuesday if they still have the filter.
Heres the wrench I use if any of yall want. Bluepoint OFCA2KT

When I looked it up, some recommended removing the passenger wheel to get better access without a lift. I managed to get under the car and reach my hand in there but that's pretty ridiculous to have to remove the wheel to do an oil change.

Yeah years ago I helped my friend in his driveway and we removed the wheel to get to it, I assume nissan designs it with shops in mind and its not that bad on a lift, sucks for everyone else though.
