Dealer installed (running boards - part of purchase deal) Weather Tech (floor liners, headlight guards, bug shield); Vent Shade (rain guards, door sill protectors); Color matched body side molding; ARE color matched rear hatch; rubber bed and tailgate liner; Ranch Hand brush guard; SteelCraft Elevation rear bumper; 4" auxiliary running/stop/turn for place in bumper; led light to light up "SteelCraft" logo in bumper.
Every vehicle Since my 1984 Toyota PU with a 22R engine I have ALWAYS used synthetic AND the OEM oil filter. When you crank an engine again and again unless you have oil on the parts or a filter that can inject oil on the crank you are introducing unnecessary wear on the engine. I now own a 2015 TACO. That 1984 truck had a 4 Speed manual transmission. Only repairs were timing belt at 100k. Master clutch cylinder at 105 k. Of course hose, radiator flush and belts are just maintenance items. At 150k CITY STOP AND GO MILES did the clutch start to slip. Sold it to a student at an absurd low price and helped him put in the new clutch.

Well ... oil and filters did most of the work...working the clutch properly did the rest. But that is another thread.

Spray paint the transmission pan area around the drain plug orange, or stencil "trans" on it. Sooner or later somebody will drain it by mistake. This has been an all to common occurrence. I can see it happening again, especially to first timers, and it won't be fun. Though I am not a veteran, from what I see, the military labels and stencils everything... and for good reason.

Good for you. I did the same for my 2002 Rodeo. Sold it to neighbor at 130k in 2015. Yea. Same year I purchased TACO. She kept up same treatment and now just under 200k. Like someone else said here. Many different options and preferences. I will not put down anyone else choices. I will only report mine and their outcomes. Fact is. I am back to Toyota and staying.

I usually use oem oil filters, because they are cheap on Amazon.

I use Castrol gtx oil because... I do.

A couple times I've used stp filters when I've run out of the oem and didn't want to wait on the new ones.

If I ever have trouble getting Castrol, I'll use Valvoline or whatever other name brand. I wouldn't be overly worried about using Fram oil filters either if they are what I can easily or cheaply get.

I got a hundred pack of aluminum oil plug washers (not oem but work great) on eBay so I use a new one with each oil change on my Tacoma and my wife's highlander. I recommend changing that washer at least every other oil change (they oil change is ideal).

Hey I might not wear underwear but I’m definitely using an oem filter.

It is the right valve. Searched it on their website. They have a search tool if you want to double check.

Once again, can I get away with the long nipple or is going to stick out too far?

Sorry I haven't change the oil myself yet.

I haven’t heard of people hitting the long nipple yet but the short nipple I know sits below the factory skid
