i learned from the Hyundai Sonata forum is that the best filter is either the oem or the high end aftermarket. i will advocate to use OEM or OEM supplier for oil filter on that sonata i had always had a kia/hyundai filter 4 bucks per filter when bought in bulk no reason to get a store brand unless you want to do it for cheap like i did with my Isuzu tuck i bought 1 dollar oil filter with my commercial account that means i can do the oil change for less than 20 bucks

I can’t make it thru a video of this guy repeating himself over and over, taking the super long extended way around every topic (this could easily be a 5 min. video instead of 25 min, without leaving any actual info out). I don’t know who’s worse to watch, Scotty “the Gilbert Gottfried of youtube” Kilmer or AMD. Actually I do know, it’s Scotty. But this dude gives him a run for his money.

I didn't watch the video but be careful buying OEM Toyota filters online (Amazon in particular). There are tons of counterfeit parts on amazon including Toyota oil filters. I got some NGK spark plugs for my 5VZ on amazon and they were counterfeit. I also purchased some rotors from Rock Auto last year that were counterfeit.

Someone needs to watch that video and let me know if there’s anything interesting in it. I couldn’t get past 5 minutes of explaining that some oil filters spin on. And then spin off. And always recycle.

Seriously the only oil filters i've ever used have been either oem, mobil, k&n, or wix. I use the cheaper brands on my tractors.

I agree that he could have taken less time, but frankly this video has some very valuable information that someone who isn't very experienced would not know. But don't watch if you think its a waste of time.

From 25 years ago the OEM with the check valve would prevent dry starts( learned the hard way) and haven't changed even with the 3rd gen can style

I run no oil filter for maximum MPGs. By the time the engine blows, I’ll have saved $3500 in gas! Then just slap in a filter for the tow to the dealer to warranty the engine.

    Winning!

I have been getting great results with my MagicMesh screen door. When the bug season is over, I finish tearing it off the door way, do my oil change and shove the mesh, magnets and all, into the filter housing. Works double duty, filters and collects all the metal bits from my cold start to valve float operating style. Also, been getting great results from grape seed oil... really have a nice smell when it burns.

This recycles the mesh and then I get a new one for next year.
