    I have a 2006 tacoma 2.7L
It has oil in the coolant overflow bottle . no coolant found in oil pan or top side of engine .
engine runs good . I know i have to add about a little bit ( less than 1/4 of a quart ) of
oil once a week . is it the head gasket ????

Could be. Have a leak down compression test done.

if oil is in the over flow tank it is coming from the engine, Being your having to add oil
regularly. With 320K on the clock you have got your moneys worth from this truck.
If it's still in good shape otherwise you might look into a used motor or have the current
engine rebuilt. And if you need the truck for daily commute it may be time to trade it
or sell it. And get a new Tacoma :broccoli::jellydance::kona:

With 320k miles, it's highly likely the HG. At this point, drop another lower mileage used engine in it and motor on.:burnrubber:

Really it comes down to if the rest of the truck is still in decent shape then what he^ said
is viable. but the truck and all running gear and electrical all have to the moon mileage
and more. So is it worth it to toss the engine in favor of a used motor and crossed fingers
    on the remainder ?
I would consider maybe some liquid head gasket repair juice and sell -Dealer would not want it.
And private buyer might want it for a work truck so list as such.

Are you sure it's engine oil and not transmission fluid, if you have an automatic there's a transmission cooler in the radiator. It would be more plausible for that to break than anything on the engine, I would look for evidence of coolant in the transmission fluid.

What he ^ said is true and it's a quick and easy way to check where the (oil) or contamination
is coming from. Sometimes we just assume oil from the engine, but not in all cases.
