Can't see any reason why Seafoam would cause premature ring wear, but blue oil means that is coming past the rings/valves....and getting burned. Not a good sign!

Yeah it could be a case of non seating rings, but usually with a rebuild 99.9% of the time your rings will seat within seconds or minutes of initial start up, hopefully it isn't a case of junkyard bait & switch..

Well the reason I even used seafoam was because i thought i had it fixed with the PCV valve chnge out. When i pulled the old PCV valve I noticed alot of Gunk just around the PCV valve. So i wanted to make sure i didnt have a buildup of gunk in the motor. The oil is in the intake and i thought maybe that was where the blue smoke for a second was comming from. Like I said beofore the blue smoke only last one second if that. I also changed out the air filter becuse the old one was soaked in oil t the bottom. What I really have not checked was if the oil is overful. I have pulled the dipstick but the truck was hot so I would not get an accurate reading of the level. I am just going to take this engine back and let them deal with it. I am not sweating this to much or as much as I was. I am not going to tell them I have done anything to the motor or the seafoam. I am not even going to tell them I chnged the PCV valve out or the grommet. I changed it out to becuse it was broken. It was all hard and brittel.

OK so I dropped the truck off at the place the engine was rebuilt. First of all I would have sent my weedeater to be worked on here. But since the motor is under warranty i let him take it and see what the issue is. He called me and told me it was the PCV valve was defective. So he changed it and changed the air filter. I have already done this so I dont think it is going to work. But i did here that some of the PCV's are bad when you buy them from Auto Zone or Advanced. So i hope in my case this was just that. But we will see I will take that bitch right back if i get just a little oil in the box. He also told me that was 5-w30 is to thin for my truck. What do yall think?

You already know the PCV is not the problem. What does your manual say about the oil?

Just because the PCV valve rattled doesnt mean it wasnt bad. If it was running fine except the oil I wouldnt be surpeised if this fixed it.

Also the local 22re experts garage looks like a crap hole... but that guy is well known in the area for great rebuilds.

Well i got the truck back today. I ran it to the house checked it at least three times and no oil. So I think it is fixed. So the new pcv i put in there was bad. Now i am paranoid and listen to every little noise my truck makes. When i am at the light and i take off i here something squeek. It not the belt becuase i put the truck in neutral and gas it a few time and even tunred off the AC. Maybe i am just being crazy. but the noise dont start till the wheels start turning. anyone have any idea what this is. it doesnt do it everytime just once every few stop lights.

Well the oil in the airbox has stopped so now I just got blue smoke at the startup. So now I know its the vlave stem seals. But I looked on youtube for how to do it and it looks easy to change them. Just may take some time.

I dunno but could it be buringn off the excess oil that got into the intake and exhaust? What a few days a see if it settles down any.

The squeek that you hear is more than likely leaf spring related, nothing to worry about.

Why are you wrenching on a motor with a warranty item? That makes little sense to me. Make the guy who rebuilt it fix it!

Well today i found oil in the airbox so it is not the PCV valve. It is something else. This fucking sucks I am going to being it back to the guy that rebuilt it but I dont trust this cat at all. The only reason I am going to him is becuse he is the one who rebuilt it for the owner before me. When i bout this truck I didnt catch this bullshit. So now who is the damn fool. Yeah I am pissed. Could this point dorectly to the valve seals. The motor runs outstanding. I still drive it but I think this is what the issue is.

Ok took the truck back to the guy. Has has had it three days. Has anyone heard of the valve cover ventilation on our 3.4l engines. SO the PCV valve works fine. It has something about air build up in the crankcase and the engine builds up pressure and then the pcv works like a vaccum and sucks in oil though the hose into the intake. Has anyone heard of this?and do our trucks have some type of ventilation on our engines like that. As much research I have done on this how would i miss something like that? And through all of the threads no one has mentioned it to me. Well what do yall think
