oil leak behind crank pulley

Note that if the oil is only filled half way up the dip stick, with thw engine off, then it should then be checked again with the engine running. See where it measures up then.

Anyone have a how to on this? I've tried to Google it... but came up with this thread, and another that is short with no pics. I just dropped off my 05 at the Dealer for a frame replacement, and they are telling me it needs the seal. Also, told me the upper balljoints are toast, and will cost another $200.00 to install. Also, said that I'm lucky the truck is even getting the frame done, because it has a lift. (sounds like all a bunch of B.S to me..)

 

YouTube a front crank seal replacement. Generic but the priciple is the same.

 

Here's a link to a loose write up I did about it. I was able to swap my seal out without taking my fan/radiator out. It took me about 2.5 hours (I took my sweet time) If I did it again now it would be less than an hour.
