    Hello all,

I knew there was very minor leak on timing chain cover... but I started to see some dripping on my drive way, and caught this on the picture.
I couldnt find a leak above light switch, so I am guessing it's from the light switch.
Is it possible to have oil leak from back up light switch? (I have this replaced about 10 months ago. It's strange that it didn't leak for past 10 months and suddenly it starts dripping.)
Should I give it a shot on replacing it with new back up light switch?
Any recommendations for new installation to prevent any oil leak?
Like can I use it with light coat of gasket sealer?

It might be leaking through the connector

    I'd just replace it

Would you recommend putting the gasket sealer around the new connector?

No the crush washer should do the job

Nothing should be leaking through the body of the connector. Any sealant in there would just make a goopy mess.

Take the connector off and see if there is fluid in the inside the connector, if so then the switch is internally leaking.

Oil will also somehow manage to soak in to the wires and can travel through the harness would definitely clean the connector if there is oil in it.

Thanks for the advice. I inspected the leak and thankfully its just at the switch. No trace on upwards or sideways to harness yet. Glad I caught this on time. I will give a shot on replacing it and see if it still leaks in few days.

Thanks for the help guys. I replaced my back up light switch to Toyota part and It hasn't been leaking for 24 hours. My old switch had relatively smaller washer and it wasn't from Toyota. I am guessing since the weather was getting hotter here in San Diego, so it was easier to leak. I will give another week, but if you guys dont hear back, you can assume there is no leak.
    Thanks again!
