sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
i just had my timing cover gasket replaced. they did infact pull the block on mine. originally they said they didn’t have to. replaced a ton of seals and gaskets, pulled the AC and recharged that with that 1234yf stuff that apparently is nasty.
they were going to look at my needle bearing- found the tsb on it. (they tried at first to blame it on it being lifted) advisor said it was bs since the tsb applies to a stock truck, so they can’t blame it on it being lifted causing it. so they are ordering a diff now. free stuff is nice, just always fear what gets screwed up in the process of it.

That's a good argument in favor of timing belt vs. timing chain.

I had a similar issue, and got a bit of a run around from Toyota. I had noticed I kept getting a low oil light and dutifully took it to two separate dealerships to have them look at it and both times, they replaced the sealant gasket in the lower oil pan but with the warning to monitor the issue. I went back to the second dealership a second time and they found a crack in the upper oil pan and it was the cause of my problems. By the time it was found, the truck had just passed over the 60k drivetrain warranty threshold, so I had to turn to my insurance to get it fixed. It took about 2 1/2 weeks to fix, but they didn't have to pull the engine out.

After they finish the work, if you are not confident, go to an Oil Change Place that you can trust and ask them to take a look around. I have a good place to go as I have had my tires replaced, brake job and a couple oil changes. Am confident they are doing good work. Word of mouth is important to them so they want to treat everyone right to keep their clients. Glad they found your leak while still under warranty.

They found the leak out of warranty by about 800 miles

Well, I had Valve Cover Gasket replaced 4 days ago. All seemed to be ok until I got my Tacoma on the Highway again. Leaking again below the valve cover. My mechanic friend seems to think I may have a warped head. Took back to the dealership service department. They found the spot where it is leaking rather quickly but were stumped as to why it is leading. My Son as well as my Tacoma Geek Friend seem to think a warped head. The dealership gave me a loaner and are going to see if they can make any progress in fixing once and for all. Just frustrating that this leak is running me through the ringer. Looking back, i think I had a front brake job and 2 valve cover gaskets replaced in vein. Will update as I get through this. So thankful for warranties.
