Hi guys, for the first time I decided to change the oil myself. Most of the time I take it to a shop I trust and they fill my truck with 5.5 qtrs they say. I now the manual calls for 5.5qtra, but today when I change the oil and oil filter. I need almost 6 qtrs to show the level at the 2nd dot on the dipstick. Is that normal?? 6qtrs. Just curious

I've always done 5.5-5.6 liters which is 5.8-5.9qrt? I think.

yeah mine took almost the 6qtrs. Also my local parts store had a promo with the oil a free wix filter. I always buy Toyota oil filter, but decided to try the wix. Is wix a good oil filter?

Wix is often better than OEM. I'd use it if I didn't have access to OEM.

You are allowing time for the oil to flow to the pan?

I have used 5.5 or close I might be a few ounces off

Since I got the 3.4 engines

Yes. Checked this morning again and it’s full at the second dot of the dipstick.
