I was changing my spark plugs on my 2010 v6 Tacoma and the left side of the engine went fine but as I opened up and removed the spark plugs on the right side I noticed they where coated in oil. Below is a picture. Why has this happened, how much is it to have it fixed, and can I drive if I throw the new spark plugs in? The left are the ones that came from the left side and the right is the same.

Spark plug tube seals in the valve cover are leaking. They are part of the valve cover gasket.

It's ok to change the plugs, just make sure to remove and wash them again once the gaskets are replaced.

Thank you, does anyone have experience changing those themselves vs a shop?

Get yourself a mechanics manual, for the proper procedure. But that is just a valve cover gasket change.

it is a DIY for some people...

    Valve cover gaskets.

my only regret is not coating mine. Such as finding a spare set to have done in wrinkle red and ready to slap in. Would look better than stock.
