I can only guess the oil shot itself over there from someplace. Is there any oil on the underside of your hood? Do you notice oil any place else in the truck? I would clean it up good and run the truck with the hood open. Maybe have someone give some throttle and you look to see where the oil could be coming from.

Do you have a K&N air filter?

If not I suspect you have a bad PCV valve causing excessive oil vapor being introduced into the intake to be burnt off, there's really not much the oil could have come from and gotten *on top* of the airbox like that.

I believe the airbox may be oil saturated and the fine dry silt is acting like developer and wicking the oil out of the pores in the plastic.

    Who changes your oil?
If it’s not you, who know what someone could have spilled?

UPDATE..!! first of all thanks everyone for the response.... my mechanic skills goes as far as youtube goes lol....... so yea i did run the truck 400km after i found the oil with out the engine cover on it... and it is completely dry.... not a single drop...... and is funny the some of you ask me who does my oil changes cuse i do my own but last one i did engine, diffs, transfer etc etc and my brother was helping me i ask him and he said that he dropped some oil but never saw where it went and im assuming it did go on top the engine cover and got trapped with the white blanket to later on dripped on the engine itself ..... i did consider the bad pvc and i have been monitoring closely and now is been close to 800km and havent found anything (i drive 3/4 of alberta through the month) so i will call it good for now.... and drop a message if i find something later on..... thanks everyone again..!!

Honestly looks like the air box is split there.

Curious if you have lots of blowby. A quick check for blowby is to open the oil fill cap while its running. A really bad engine you will hear the purring of the motor and see gas come out.

Oil goes down, not up. Due to gravity.
And rearward, due to the car moving forward.

Oil leaks are typically diagnosed by cleaning the fuck out of the area such as with a solvent like brake cleaner, letting it dry or blowing it dry with compressed air
maybe a rinse with degreaser, brushing, and water; whatever works

followed by spraying with a white film coating of leak detection spray, such as Gold Bond Foot Spray Power for about $3 from walmart. The talcum, talc, or whatever it's called, creates a white film.
Then after driving, if the film stays white and dry, there is no leak.
If there is a leak, it becomes more clearly visible over the white dried spray film.

I've not tried other methods such as adding UV dye to oil. I hear that stuff stinks. I don't know if it requires an oil change after.
