Does it still use oil, if you never check it?
If it makes to the next oil change with out checking the level, does that count as not using oil?

I’ve heard the saying, “It doesn’t use a drop of oil” so much, that I’m starting to think maybe all my engines have something wrong with them.

You need to buy a vehicle that has a large reserve. For example, my F350 with HEUI will kill the injectors first before burning the engine up due to lack of oil. I love that design, plus the fact that it holds 5 gallons and can probably lose a gallon before it even makes a dent in the dipstick reading is a benefit. The downside being the price when you have to do the oil change LOL

I knew a guy who drove a super junky VW hatchback that needed a qt of oil added each time he filled up gas. We made the joke that he had a 2-stroke engine. The thing never died but it was a rolling EPA violation.

The old GTOs, you know what that stood for right? Gas, Tires, and Oil :). You know it might be time to start checking your engine when you have to fill the oil and check the gas.
