    I have a 98 2.7 4x4.will the oil pan come out without taking front diff out? its leaking and want to know if i can do this easily or not. Thx,Dan

    I'd suggest getting the Haynes or Chiltons manual. Everything I've hear though is that you have to remove it.

    i HAVE A 98 4X4 EXT CAB 2.7. My oil pan leaks. how hard is it to replace?

    Where does it leak?

    If its anything like the 3.4L.... check the oil pan bolts to make sure they're tight. Aside from that....you might have to remove the pan, clean off the old sealant, apply new sealant and put the pan back on.

    Or do you have hole in it?

    Definately get a haynes, chiltons, www.ncttora.com, or www.google.com

    Yes the frnt diff must come out, i changed my oil pan last winter. It is not really a bad job. Took me about 4 hours in my house garage on the floor.I got the pan and toyotas pan sealant from my local toyota dealer.

    Its most likely easy. Be glad its not 94 F150 ;) To replace oil pan gasket on that thing, you HAVE to pull the transmission :rolleyes::rolleyes:
