    Hello all,
Just bought a 97 Tacoma 2wd 2.4l 217,000 mi that was leaking oil from the oil pump cover gasket. I purchased a kit from eBay that has a new cover, seal, screws, and pump gears. I wasn’t having any oil pressure issues, but since the kit comes with a new pump I guess it’s a no brainer to go ahead and replace it while I’ve got it apart. My question is, anything I should look for or any tips I should know going back together with it? I’ve already got it apart and cleaned up awaiting the new parts. Thanks for any input or advice as this is my first Tacoma.

pack the gears with a little grease so it does not start up dry.

Doing my oil pump o-ring & front main on the '95 w 2RZFE. Tried doing it without removing the radiator but those screws are not going to let me. Impact required to remove them, it seems and I know I'm going to shred the heads. Factory screws are M6x1.0 / PH#3. I found & bought a set of Torx, replacement screws on e-bay so I won't have the same problem upon installation. Also found a set with hex heads but they wanted too much to ship them.
    Repair delayed...

Oh yeah. Thanks man. Had one for years. Once the kid learned about it, he took it, so guess where it is (or is not).
A lot of younger people who have the luxury of Milwaukee Fuel don't even know what that thing is.
Needed to buy the replacement screws anyway so I have a brief respite before I start over. Silver lining, I have become a grand master at breaking crank pulley bolts loose.
    Thanks again.
