Based on all the oil threads I have read on here, people posting their Blackstone results, reading through Bob Is The Oil Guy stuff, and the fact that my vehicles get about 6K miles per year, I now just change the oil once a year with whatever brand name synthetic is the cheapest and in stock. I'd even do SuperTech if they had it in stock in 0W-20.

on my daily drivers i use castrol syntehetic. change every 5k. Ultimately clean cheap oil is better than dirty name brand oil. I think ill try the Amazon brand oil next. looks like it tested well.

I use castrol Edge 0w-20. I just buy a few 5 quart jugs when its on sale. My truck and my wife's take the same weight so it works out well.

Whoever is reading this, skip bob is the oil guy. I have no idea how that site isn’t just one page with a few sentences. Imagine if you will- a population of anal retentives who talk about oil ad nauseam into infinity. The info required is in your manual. Your engine is a Toyota engine, and will last forever, oil minutiae playing zero part in its longevity.

by all means though, if you feel like talking about a liquid for fucking ever, visit BITOG.

AMSOIL is not true synthetic, neither is any other oil bought on the shelf. A real synthetic will cost well over 20 per qt and even then there is still a percentage of refined crude in it.

You think that second quote is gonna start a fight? Gawd. You just triggered the entire AMSoil base telepathically.

Dude serious there are people who lay awake at night because they’re sweating the molecules.

    It’s rainman territory.

Oh, I know it. I used to trawl (not TROLL) the BITOG threads for info. Until I learned some life lessons. Synth diesel oils if the weights are close, otherwise, whatever good synth I can get in a 5qt jug at WallyWorld. With the more or less permanent rebates on M1, that makes it easy.

For those with sleep problems with this , with a rebate from Mobil 1 , an extra $1.41 a month or so will let you change the oil every 5K instead of the 10k . I know /I know it is rather pricy , but a good nights sleep is worth a lot .

Indeed. Instead of laying down to sleep and thinking of shearing properties, you can just do what regular people do. Sleep.

Shearing you say? That is gonna make the non-cruiser motorcycle crowd come running.

hey now, I’m one of those non cruiser types....959706B6-8B88-4EFC-B29E-2111CE942E97.jpg
use m1 racing in it, or the same m1 I use in both yotas. Get it all at once at the same place so I don’t have to go to a damn bike dealer and listen to the bullshit of how Motul or spectro is the best ever, all from kids who can’t even use a bike right.

shear factors? What are those? The bike used to get an oil dump every 1500-2500 miles, or before and after every race. 63k on her...
