oil screw up.

    ok so i went to get my oil today and i have know idea why, but i bought 5w20 for some reason and didnt realize it before i was poring it in i live in NC and about to hit the winter. it doesnt get too cold here. so should i drain it and get the right stuff or just leave it in there.

    Supercharger, OME lift w/ LR UCAs, running boards, toolbox, extinguisher mount, skidplate, N-Fab light bar, 40" R.I. LED bar, WO seat covers, TRD intake, Weathertech mats and visors, stubby antenna, hood struts, LED interior lighting, Hella Supertones, and other stuff I'm forgetting.
    Leave it. Still fine for cold weather, but you might not get that extra hundredth of mile per gallon by using zero weight.

    Oil is overated. You will get much farther without any oil than you will without any gas. I like to tell that to my mechanic at work. He gets so upset. Haha

    I did that too! I still have it in my truck. It was Castrol Edge 5w-20 in a gold 5.xx quart jug. I was so pissed. It won't hurt your truck. You will be fine.

    I have a 1996 honda 300 4wheeler that I bought new. I have never changed or added oil. There is nothing on the dipstick. 15 years! It is a honda though...

    Honestly if you keep pretty strict on the 3k or 5k change interval, Oil is Oil. As long as your not pouring 0 weight in 100 degree climates and 40 weight at subzero temps your truck will be fine. Changing your oil ever 3k or 5k will ensure that the oil barely sees half life.
