    synthetic oil does a great job cleaning deposits. you shouldn't ever need to do an engine flush if you do proper OCI.

    I wasn’t aware that a cartridge filter has an anti drain valve. Where in the pic would it be?

    This is a good product and in my opinion the proper way of doing it. It’s an ester base with your regular oil additives so that when you add it in it doesn’t dilute down the anti wear/lubrication properties of your oil. It’s not a solvent based flush cleaner. You basically run it for the whole interval.

    FYI--in the diesel world, there is Valvoline Premium Blue Restore that is specifically made for this purpose.

    There is that too, and it’s a great product! but try convincing half of these guys that running anything thicker than 0w20 won’t blow up your bearings as the engineers made them so tight that they know what oil weight won’t blow them up .
