I use 0w-20 and change every 3000 or so. The oil cap on mine says 0w-20 I bought mine Jan 05 2013.

Real good info you found there.

Interesting ----- My oil cap shows 5w-30 and I purchased it in Nov. of 2013. So if I am reading this correctly this would be a change from the 5w-30 to the 0w-20 according to the bulletin. Is that right?

No. Look again, the Tacoma 1GR-FE still gets 5w30. 2TR-FE (four cyl) uses 0w20.

The dual-VVT 1GR-FE used in the 4Runner, FJ, and Tundra uses 0w20 though

OK I got it you're right. Thanks! Still good info to print off and stick in the glove box.

Maybe has something to do with where it was built. Mine built in Tx.

In the link, I was reading the note for Tacoma (V-6).

They mention a blue and green dipstck will require more oil... never heard of these colored dipsticks.... anyone else?

... Also, the Venza and Avalon use a little more oil than Taco V-6's, hmmm.

Blue and green dipsticks are for 5.7L Land Cruiser only.

Tacoma note says X-Runner takes 4.8 qt instead of 5.5 like the rest of the V6 models.

Nope, 4 cylinder versus 6 cylinder is the difference.

Thanks for the file. That will be useful for all kinds of maintenance.

Perfect. Thanks. I'm taking that to the dealer when I have my 5K service. They say any synthetic oil is changed at 10K
