Hey guys I just bought a 2004 DC Tacoma v6. My question is it has 5w-20 as per the sticker on the windshield. I believe Toyota recommends 5w-30 would it be any problem ??? Or should I change the oil to 5w30 or just wait till the next interval and then out 5w30. Thanks

Myself I would just wait till the next oil change.

Wait and then change to Shell t6 full synthetic.

5-20 is pretty wimpy. I would drain that shit ASAP. I drive my truck pretty hard and use 20-50 in the warm season.

I'm not an expert though hopefully some oil masters can chime in.

Wait until the next oil change. Use what Toyota recommends in weight but go full synthetic.

I have a 2004 as well, the oil cap on the engine block says to use 5w30

I wouldn't stress over it, wait 3000 miles and switch it when you do the oil change.

5-30 is an around oil for cold and warm climate. I personally use 10-30 since I live in California and have yet to go camping in -30f weather.
