ok for chicago winter use?

hey all, looking to swap out my current earnhardt jr gloss black/machined aluminum wheels possibly for the ballistic jesters in black pictured for winter use. live an hour from chicago where salt is readily used but sand seems to be the more common item used to deal with illinois winters. believe they are a painted alloy, unsure of clear coat. whaddya think? too nice of a wheel for winter? steel is cheaper sure or i could go with the oem set still have, but after having the current setup don't think i could step down vehicle is garaged and would intend to keep clean as much as possible. any and all input appreciated!!

 

I'm from Maine so i no how winter can be with the salts, i have a set of black aliminum wheels painted, and I was told they will hold up well as longs as you wash them off once or twice a week.
