Absolutely; I was not denying that. I was suggesting there's a better way to protect your new frame from corrosion than to cut the lower half of it off.

Yeah, both rails plated with 3/16". Keep in mind, you need to sleeve and widen your receiver hitch by 3/8" if you go all the way to the back like I did.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I think everyone missed my main point!!!

If the galvanizing took place at the time of the vehicle being built it would indeed cost the end user a few thousand on the invoice at the time of sale!!

Not having a used frame coated 15 plus years later. After all in most cases it has already been removed 1/2 the work is done . It would be much cheaper .

A Tacoma shows up to you how much would you charge to remove the old frame source and have shipped or by chance find local a good used frame.

send the frame out to be coated install fresh coated frame plus replace all the other compromised parts ?

Even though you begged the owner to just scrap the truck.

The nearest they came to working on the truck was dropping it off at the quicky mart and picking it up.

Would it be a labor of love and you quote $500.00 sounds good..

I know at times I forget some people never move past the quicky mart skill level .

For the time being, I'd drill a hole at the end of the crack to stop it from spreading further. 1/4" or so
