I joined Aug 8, 2016 according to the time stamp on my profile.
I've purchased 4 brand new Tacoma's, 2012, 2016, 2018 and 2020. I currently own the 2020 and 2018 Tacoma and have done extensive modifications to the engine, suspension, electrical and exterior. They're overlanding rigs.

Since I joined I've attempted to post replies, thank-you's, inquires and value-add information to postings but I'm blocked by the "you don't have 50-posts yet" nanny hand slap.

I can't help that 90% of my interest lies in the buy/sell/trade forums. That's why I joined this forum primarily. Not to post chat-like noise like a teenage girl on the phone about hairstyles.

I sent the admin's a PM in Feb 2022 with no reply what so ever. My frustration has boiled over, can someone please sanity-check this draconian setting?
    Geez

Dude just make 7 comments on random posts and you're there. Why make a fuss over something solved so easily?

I tend to agree with you. That being said I dont think any of those types of posts you mentioned above should be limited..? Are you saying the entire BST sub-forum is locked if you dont have 50 posts?

Also, youre only seven posts away. Thats like one good Friday thread!

There's alot of nanny hand slapping that goes on around here that I typically wouldn't agree with, but I completely understand the 50 post rule. And as someone who uses the forum primarily for BST purposes, you've really reaped the benefit of that rule. I'm sure its an annoyance since you've been around for so long, but you're nearly past it.

The rules where there before you joined. So, you've known since 8/8/2016

    You're almost there though.

Not sure which person you messaged, but wouldn't have made a difference really. Rule is in place to help protect buyers and sellers. Even with this rule, shit still happens, but we use it to stop the craigslist types and spammers quite often.

    You're welcome.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
I thought the "Friday posts" stayed, pretty much, in the 3rd Gen section of the forum.

In the time that it took you to vent you could have posted “Welcome” in a few of the “New Members” threads and this would no longer be an issue.

The rule is annoying, but it’s there to protect buyers and sellers. Almost every forum I’ve been actively apart of has had this rule.

I think I had 50+ post first hour, if not first day for sure.

    :notsure:

Read some threads, comment "Nice build" a couple times and 50+ done.

I like the 50 post rule, however I can understand when someone has been around for years, why it may be frustrating. Not everyone else sees the humor in humorist posts.
